Strictly NHS is ballroom dance based charity event, developed especially to raise money for our NHS.
The event is the idea of our Director, Alison Slinger; bringing the dance world together to give back to all our amazing NHS workers and show our gratitude for all they do.
Our team have pulled together some of the country’s best professional dancers, to team with 12 lucky applicants, to make dance dreams come true! Successful applicants will get the chance to train one on one with a professional dancer for 6 weeks before performing together ‘Strictly Style’ in front of an audience at The Blackpool Tower Ballroom. We have also lined up a star-studded judging panel and one lucky dancer will be taking home their very own Glitterball trophy too.
We’re sure this is a dream come true for many dance and Strictly lovers alike!
We have set ourselves the target of raising a whopping £10,000 for the NHS charities and we are hoping that we are able to completely smash it! Money will be raised through sponsorship of our successful applicants, ticket sales from the event itself, plus we will be accepting sponsorship & donations from businesses wishing to be involved.
You do not need to work for the NHS or have any previous dance experience to take part. Just a desire and love of dance and a dedication to fulfil the journey to the last dance step! Applications to take part will open from Saturday 4th July and will close on Monday 31st August. We will then be in touch with those successful for round 2; to provide a short video, explaining a bit about yourself and why you want to be part of Strictly NHS. These will then be viewed and our final 12 will be selected by our mentor team, Alison Slinger, James Wilson and Dan Whiston.
Training for the event will commence from 11th January 2021, with the final event being held on Friday 26th February. We will film clips and provide updates via our social media of each dancers training journey; to keep our supporters up to date with progress and the ups and downs of learning to dance! Tickets to attend the evening will be available in due course.
The night of the final dance is set to be extra special, with performances from all our competitors, plus of course our fabulous judges will be giving their scores and opinions. There will also be extra entertainment on the night from our brilliant professional dancers and some extra special guests too!
We truly hope that you can support us on this magical journey, whilst we raise money for our wonderful NHS in the process. It’s a once in a lifetime experience to perform on the iconic Tower Ballroom floor and we truly hope it’s a memorable experience for those lucky enough to take part
Could you be our Dance Floor Hero?
